Camping
We just returned home from 2 nights of camping on the Washington Coast. What fun! I hadn't done much camping before, but I'm so glad we jumped on this wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with our friends. It rained and didn't feel much like August, but it did feel like something I want to do again. Seeing the joy in Sam's eyes and watching him explore and run free made it all worth it. On the last night, bundled up in his sleeping bag, with his tired little head resting on his pillow, he whispered (ever so quietly) to his Daddy: "Thank you Daddy.... for camping".

On the way home we stopped in Westport, a place that Mike visited as a child. We finished our awesome weekend with a nice walk, saw lots of fish and a seal, enjoyed some deep fried sliced pickles and a fresh, hot donut! Life is GOOD.

You make rainy, cloudy weekends look fun. Looks like a great trip! Sam looks like he was in his element.
Wow, Jen all the pics are terrific especially Ruthie and Sam, Three Boys Running and Little Girl in Love.
You really captured the fun of the weekend in this post! I so envy your photography talent :)
So many favourite pictures! What a wonderful opportunity to capture memories. I'm so happy you all had fun.
What a blessing it is for all of you to have so many friends to do these things with. Camping is way more fun when it is a little rainy, then the mud is inevitable and you don't even have to try to keep clean! Your pictures are brilliant as always.
