Sam Turns Five

I've been putting off this posting because I simply couldn't find the words to express how I feel about Sam. He has lit up my life in a way I never knew existed and has made the past five years the best ones of my life. His huge, sweet, heart astounds me. I don't think I've ever met a kinder person. Sam has taught me so much about life and I love his inquisitive nature. He's developing a real sense of humor. He is learning to read and write and is very much looking forward to starting Pre-K tomorrow at his new school, St. Louise. Charlotte, Mike and I are so lucky he's in our family. We love him to pieces.

Sam spent his 5th birthday in Canada at Grouse Mountain thanks to Uncle Devin & Auntie Tara. Thank you both for giving him such a special day. Here are some photos from the day, taken by Uncle Devin.

If you look real close, you can see us :)

Feeding the grizzlies!
Eating the apple!
A wooden bug sculpture, awesome!

Sam also got to have a close encounter with some of the birds, including Tyto the barn owl. Devin was assisting Sam with this of course, so here's some pics I took on my phone.
