A Big Ouchie
Today we had an unfortunate accident. Sam's middle finger got caught in the door as I was closing it. No bones are broken, but the skin was broken pretty badly. He has 6 steri-strips holding it closed, and needs to wear this splint for a week. He was so brave, even the doctor commented on what a big boy he was. So for now, no swimming, sandbox or finger painting. I feel so terrible, and when I apologized to him (again and again) this afternoon, he just said "that's ok Mommy" and gave me a big hug!

Good job, Sam, on being so brave at the doctor's office.
Oh gosh...how terrible. That is one of my mommy fears. It can happen to anyone! I wish him a quick recovery.

Oh, that hurts for both of you! So glad it didn't break a bone. This happened to one of my kids when they were small, but I can't remember which one.
