We got back from our weekend in Canada last night and did we ever have a great time. Friday we celebrated my 28th birthday with close friends and family. We ordered Chinese food and had delicious vegan cake for dessert! Mike and Jordan had a cool dip in the pool (Sam and I were not so brave - it was kinda cold out), Sam kept everyone smiling and we all had a really nice evening!
Saturday we went up Grouse Mountain to visit my sister Tara and her husband Devin. They live up there because Devin works in the Wildlife Refuge and takes care of the Griz
zly Bears and other endangered wildlife. Grouse Mountain is easily Vancouver's biggest tourist attraction. In the winter it is a huge ski resort and the summer they offer the Skyride, mountain ziplines, hiking, paragliding, visiting the Wildlife Refuge and lots of other entertainment including the hilarious Lumberjack Show! They even have an HD "Theatre in the Sky" cinema! What a cool place to live! Sam enjoyed the Skyride up the mountain and had a great time exploring around when we got tot the top. We had a small trek to Tara and Devins cabin, where we met their lovely movie star parrot "Shelley" (he is actually male),
and also about half a dozen guinea pigs! Sam was very interested in the animals who were actually very tolerant of his little grabbing hands! We hung out for a bit in their cabin and then went out for a nice walk around the grounds. We stopped and watched the Lumberjack Show where Sam actually became the star of the show! They made the cutest little chair and asked for the youngest audience member. So his Daddy took him down and claimed the prize. What a perfect ending to the perfect day! Thanks Tara and Devin for your hospitality! We are so glad we finally got to see where you live!
We had such a nice time visiting with everyone and can't wait to come back soon!

Your pictures are just awesome. I can't wait to see more! Every week you get better and better. I am so happy that we now have this love of photography to share. I wish I had been there to see Sam claim his prize, however you described the day so well I am able to visualize it clearly. Too bad the weather wasn't better, but next time you will have a great view of our beautiful city. Thank you, Mike for bringing Jen home once again, especially on her birthday weekend. I love you all very much.

So glad you got up to see Tara and Devin at home at Grouse. We are anxious to do that ourselves (except for the Skyride part) so it was great to hear about it and see your pictures. Great chair!

Hey! Thanks again for coming to visit us. It was so nice to have you guys up here. Too bad we didn't get to see the bears very well or do the ziplines but that just means you guys need to come back soon! I love seeing all the pics of little Sam with our little piggies and on the lumberjack chair. Love ya!
